2015 - ESRA welcomes William Graves
ESRA continues to attract new members throughout the island and last Thursday was no exception at the Boathouse in Palma as a warm welcome was extended to new Members of ESRA Central at their monthly coffee morning organised by Nita de Petersen, Central Social Secretary. The Members attending were also delighted to meet with William Graves who was recently made an Honorary Member of ESRA. Living in Palma it was ESRA Central who had the privilege of handing William his Membership card and being introduced to the Members by ESRA President David Whitney and Central´s Chairman Debbie Potgieter.
Thankfully, it was the morning before the storm which struck Palma on the Friday causing much damage, but on this warm sunny morning all enjoyed their coffees and croissants. William also provided the group with information on the La casa de Robert Graves and on another exhibition highlighting the works of English poets, writers and painters being held in Palma. A good time was had by all and the coffee mornings organised by all the Districts provide not only Members, but guests alike with the opportunity of catching up on news, making new friends and joining as a new Member. ESRA welcomes all to their District coffee mornings and events. It was also pleasing to see a painting by the late Alfonso Loeffler, the husband of ESRA Vice President Dorothy Loeffler who kindly donoted the painting as the prize in a special All Island ESRA raffle. All ticket proceeds will go to the Alan Graham Charity 4 Kidz chosen by Dorothy. A picture of the painting adorns the cover of the 2015 ESRA Yearbook and the painting shortly moves on to another District for viewing. For more information on ESRA do visit www.esramallorca.com.
